Thinking about opening your home to a child?
That thought, however quiet it may be right now, is how every foster journey begins. You don't have to figure it out alone. This page is a safe place to start.
Strong children are raised by supported caregivers.
Foster parents, adoptive parents, kinship caregivers, grandparents, guardians: the people who say "yes" to a child deserve encouragement and real, practical help. That's what Unbreakable Kids is here for.
Whether you're just curious, in the middle of the licensing process, or already have a child in your home, we'll meet you where you are: with honest answers, essential resources, and a community that shows up.
An honest note before you start
Unbreakable Kids is a community support nonprofit. We are not a licensing or placement agency. Becoming a foster or adoptive parent in Florida happens through the state's official child-welfare partners listed below. We're here for everything around that journey: preparation, encouragement, resources, and belonging.
Your first three steps
No commitment, no pressure. Just a clear path from "what if?" to "we've got you."
Start with Florida's official foster and adoption information below: who can foster, what licensing involves, and what children need most.
Reach out to us with your questions. We'll listen, share what we know, and connect you with our community of caregivers and volunteers.
Once a child is part of your life, lean on us for family events, workshops, holiday help, essential resources, and people who understand.
